How can i fix this monitor problem?

i own a gateway monitor and a compaq tower givin to me and i pluged the monitoer in and the lil green oil lamp just flashes anyone know the problem?

Answer:

It may not be the monitor. If you enjoy a 2nd monitor, plug the new tower into that and try it. If it still flashes, unplug EVERYTHING and break open the tower and make sure the video card is firmly inserted into the slot, closed the tower spinal column up and plug everything back surrounded by and try again. If the computer is starting to boot properly, you will hear one beep and probably the floppy drive bring in a sound and see the frozen drive light on the tower start flashing (it is anyone read) meaning the tower is working right. If nought still happens or you hear more than one sound the horn or none at all, it is probably a desperate tower and not the monitor
hvae u tried hooking other monitors up tot he tower?
have you tried adjust the settings on your monitor
have you check the cable? maybe you hold only plug the power cable for the monitor minus the other cable from the monitor to the laptop....or maybe they are not a plug and play compatible. are they fresh? do you have the cd for the monitor? enjoy you check the video card? was it working? try to reassess the situation once again of what's really cause the problem?
uh no srry! But try getting a Mac, maybe that problem wont surface on the Mac computer!
