How can I convert my Apple DVI output monitor to work near a VGA adapter?

I enjoy a Apple HD Cinema flat panel that has a DVI output cable merely. My HP computer lacks a DVI receiver, have only VGA input. I ordered two different adapter/converters that redeploy a DVI video cable to analog VGA, but when I plug it into the computer, I get no display on the Apple monitor. Is here an adapter that works for this purpose or must i buy a dvi video card. I would hate to do that as this computer is fresh with a great video card.

Answer:

Yea..... if it be a great video card, it would have probably enjoy a dvi connection already. You can proly seize one for less than a hundred bucks in a minute. Plus converting a dvi monitor to vga kinda defeats the purpose of spending the extra dough to attain the dvi monitor.
I'm not aware of any recent video cards that don't have DVI outputs. If yours doesn't, it may be time for an upgrade anyway.
